"Continuing a theme of Coffee Spots in glorious Victorian shopping arcades, I present Pot Kettle Black (PKB), which has been gracing Manchester’s coffee scene since the start of October 2014. The Barton Arcade, home of PKB, is one of the most beautiful I’ve seen and PKB takes its lead from there, with gorgeous external features and some of the most ornate and sumptuous window art there is. Stepping inside, PKB is one of the most beautifully-appointed coffee shops I’ve ever visited."

"Deansgate’s Barton Arcade plays host to Pot Kettle Black – a glass fronted coffee haven that has Mancunians flocking from all over the city. I’m yet to see PKB empty, which is testament to their consistently high standards and some of the best coffee in the City. Also a sanctuary for freelancers I’m not the first to have spent an entire day in PKB, keeping fuelled by their beverages and snacks and I’m positive that I won’t be the last."

"Panna Coffee is another well-known coffee shop in the town centre. They do have a couple vegan items on the menu, including the classic avo on toast and granola. I wish they had a vegan version of their waffles!"

"27/05/2021: Lovely lunch with the fixed price being really good value. Service was friendly and attentive and food arrived quickly and was very tasty with quality fresh ingredients. Only slight negative was overpriced wine by the glass."

Smithfield Social, a joint venture from Jobe Ferguson and Anthony Fielden of TNQ, and Liam Fray of The Courteeners, has taken over the old Teacup Kitchen site on Thomas Street. It's been transformed into a smart all-day dining destination, inspired by Liam's favourite hangouts in the Lower East Side of Manhattan."
